This Sunday, sharpen your pencils and unearth your hidden words for a lovely afternoon of poetry, photography and cake.

Led by published author Ian Pople, you will create your own piece of writing in response to Hidden Worlds: a group photography exhibition looking at the extraordinary inside the everyday.

The exhibition -  for the Independents Biennial 2018 arts festival - includes the display of a handwritten new poem by Brian Patten of The Liverpool Poets, written exclusively for the show.

Ian's writing has been published in the US, Canada and Australia and featured in The Independent, Times Literary Supplement and London Review of Books. His first book The Glass Enclosure was recommended by the Poetry Book Society, an organisation started by T S Eliot in 1953 to champion poetry in the arts.

The event is hosted by Unio Collective of artists. It will take place at Britannia Adelphi Hotel in Liverpool on 15th July from 2:30pm to 4pm.

Places are free but limited; they must be booked in advance by emailing uniocollective@gmail.com

Pencils, paper and cake will be provided.
